I have heard burning at slower speeds enables the disc to load more quickly. Is this true?
I burned at 4x on a Sony DVD+R( the booktype was set to DVD-ROM). I have a PS2 slim. I am almost completely sure it is of the SCPH-70000 series but I do know it has a date code of 6C on the bottom.
Can anyone help?
P. S. On a side note, I am running out of 4.7 GB dvd's, could I burn normal ps2 games (less than 4.7 GB) onto a DVD+R Dual-Layer Disc?
You are probably using cheap discs. Do not use cheap discs. Use Verbatim DVD-R Super AZO discs that are manufactured by either Taiyo Yuden or Mitsubishi.
Burning your discs will not cause the games to boot faster directly. Some people have reported things like that, but that is the side effect of their burns being more "correct".
Usually, only older burners, burners with buggy firmware and badly designed burners will have issues with burning discs at fast speeds.
In fact, burning discs at low speeds might even be counter-productive as the discs might not be burned well at all. Some discs were simply not designed to be burnt at low speeds.
