help!! i lifted one of the controller pins and i cant reconnect it. what can i do?? now when i turn on the ps2 the green goes on and then goes back to red. please help!
if i dont bother connecting it and install the alternate into the modchip (because it is a required point) will it work? does that point need to be connected if its being connected to the modchip anyways?? thanks a lot.

A pic would be good, version motherboard, what pin, etc.
You'll likely have to get that pin connected, either directly or with a wire.

its a version 9 gh-023 board. the pin was cut off completely, i moved the wire while it was connected. i cant seem to get a good connection because the point is so small. ill post a pic later, but for now does anyone know if this is feesable(sp?)?
edit: its pin I for the magic V series...

You may be able to grind away some of the plastic on the chip just enough to get a connection. I must say though, this is extremely difficult to do without damaging the chip itself. I have successfully done this before in other applications, however I've also messed it up. Just go slow and don't take off any more plastic that you need to make the connection.

what i really need to know is: does the magic V reroute the connection from the controller pin to itself?? if so then i can just connect the point from the board if i do not need to disabel the modchip, correct?

Good point, you might be able to just attach the wire to the track on the board and see if it works. If it does not, then you'll need to try my other suggestion. I highly doubt you will cause any damage if the pin from the chip is not connected as long as you don't have anything shorted. That said, the worst thing that can happen is it won't work and you'll have to try to get it on the chip too. As always "attempt this at your own risk".

I might try to melt back some of the plastic with my soldering iron, it'll likely be a bitch to clean the tip after.
If there's any metal at all showing you should be able to get a wire on there.
Make sure to use some rosin flux on it, it's often the difference between solder sticking or not.
Besides that, break out the dremel, maybe with the engraving tip??
Bear in mind I've never done this
Cheers,
