I've been monitoring ps3 preorder sales on ebay. One went for over $1700 with 40+ bidders. Omg. And just this minute on Craigslist I saw a posting for $2000. I know that there will be a shortage of ps3's come this winter holiday shopping season, but come on? I actually spoke with an employee for SCEA at the airport last week. He confirms the shortage. do any of you know when the release date will be? Some say the 17th and some the 19th? Which is it? I thought 17th was the predetermined date of North America release.

17 is the launch date. 19 is for the Wii launch date.

Yes the release for US is on the 17th however there are poles on the net (witch you can bet real money on) if in fact the release will in fact be on the 17th or if Sony will push back for some unknowin resean..

anything over a grand is to much.. But then agian Im not one to say if I where to get a PS3 that I wouldent put it on Ebay.. Only makes sents to put it on there.. You know that your going to at least get $700 for it regardless on there..
But this has gotten way out of hand ever sents the 360 had launched...

I remember in at least one case of a 360 selling for well over $4000. I will list mine when I get it, but set at a reserve of at least $2000 and if it doesn't sell then I'll just keep it. Seems to me that selling my console for over twice what I payed for it doesn't sound that bad at all. I'll have to wait a few months and on top of that I'll get it for free the second time around with the profit I make.

Here is one that sold for $5000. Talk about a major profit. I find it funny that the guy's store is for shoes.
