  1. #1 Laser type for SCPH 30001R?
    theonlybandever Guest
I have a SCPH 30001R, with a serial number starting with U0, and I was wondering, for replacing the laser, do I need the KHS-400B, or 400C?

    Thanks

    A.J.

400C but there are some that need the R laser which is a different laser. 400B lasers are not compatible in a R and up. There are a lot of R laser equipped 30001R (v5, v6) units. There are guides to convert a r laser to c and programs that can do it. I hope this helps.

Well, how would I go about finding my laser type then?

and I would probably get a new PS2, but my PS2 is modchipped, and I dont wanna just dispose of that.

I thought if the serial ended in R then it had the KHS 400r laser. You should be able to switch to a 400c if you use lenschanger program.

lenschanger requires a network and naplink. You can open the ps2 and take the drive cover. Make sure its turned off when doing this. Dont look at the lens sinc it can cause eye damage. I hope this helps.

So, how do I see what exact kind I have, without just assuming?
