laser question

how can you tell what was the original laser in a ps2?
im running lenschanger and it starts up ok off cd, and it uto selects a khs400c is this the lens that was suppose to be in the ps2 or the best selection for this model
im not sure which it is supposed to be telling me
is the 400c the best option for the v7 ps2 , that has a R type laser

The R type is a better laser in my opinion but they're usually more expensive.

if the (r) type are better why are they the ones that fail mostly??

they only fail when you mod them with the infinity chip, and thats only because of the power that is require to run the mod. but if you get the romeo fix you wont have to worry about the coil burning out.

romeo isnt needed on a V7 it is for v9 + 10

Ive read on countless websites and forums that the khs 400c is the best ps2 laser to date.
