Laser Problem –

i got a Rtype laser that when i press on the ps2 the laser make a clickin noise and the red dot (laser light) will blink a few times and then it will start to spin after a few second
do you fink if i clean the laser it will probably work again
also when people say use Alcohol can anyone tell me what i ask for it like wen i go to hardware shop i go do u sell alcohol they start laughin at me ahhahaha is there a particular name

first thing to try would be cleaning, not sure where you are but in Australia its called rubbing alcohol, or isopropyl alcohol, I think thats how you spell it

you can get it at the chemist, or just use metho, try cleaning the top first, this should tell you if it is a dirt problem, you should be able to get cd working if not both. if that doesnt work then move on to next lens, I havent had much luck adjusting the pots on r type lasers, doesnt seem to make a lot of difference so just clean for now, metho and cotton bud, clean with one end dry with other. good luck

it worked fine at the start
then i desolder and solder it back on
and it will go to the browser and load for 2 sec then it will boot
so i stuffed around the calibration for like a while now the laser is blinking
i desolder the whole fing and calibrate it and it still wont work ahhhaha
teach me a lesson sometime you cant make it perfect or not to tamper with stuff
