Is a laser fix necessary for Scph-70011?

I am willing to modd my ps2, scph-70011 with duo 3 gold chip. Is the laser fix necessay for scph-70011, slim, v12 ? which one is better and cheaper between these fixes:comsoft v4, the subzero one or summones fix.
Where can i find it? i am located in ontario.

Yes in a V12 a laser fix is necessary or you will fry the laser and laser ribbon

I personally use a Comsoft V4 fix. It works great, Ive seen it immediateley turn off my ps2 when too much current gets to my laser.
