laser dilema

i have a old ps2 with the small square mother board thing is i bought a v1- v4 replacment laser kit and it dont fit
it hits the small lower board so any thoughts would help cheers


dvd drive has small board underneath with the 3 little plastic plug connectors on the left
this might help to identify
this is my exact dvd drive

what does the exact laser say on the side......KHS-400B, A, C , R all you have to do is look

Hi,

Do you mean that you can't slide the head along the rails in the present state in the picture because the board is in the way? That's normal. The assembly is currently in a lowered state to allow the disc to drop on the tray and to allow the tray to open. Otherwise it would hit the spindle. As soon as the tray closes, the assembly is lifted and the head should be able to move freely.
