Just need a little help/pointed in the right direction please.

Have a PS2 SCPH 50001 version 10. I just pulled it out from a long slumber, and it is clean, gently used, and works fine, but I want to make it an Awesome Game/Movie Playing Beast. I just recently, in the last year, started teaching myself: Unlocking/Rooting and Flashing Smart phones, built 4 nice PCs and 1 laptop, and just lately started reading/learning Java/SDK and APK (my goal is to develop an App or two).
Anyway, I am a noob here, and would like suggestions on the correct direction to proceed.

I would like to definately increase processor speed, add a couple HHD, and anything else that would help me fall in love with this ole PS again!!! It did not come with a network adapter, and the SECA that Gamestop sells is probably slower than dirt.

PLEASE HELP ME, more like guide me....I have PC parts, HHD, etc. just need to know what other parts I need to start collectioning.
