I feel like I've done everything right, but I am totally new to this. I decided to do this on a whim. Maybe I haven't researched enough.

Everything goes fine. I made it past the grueling first level of this agonizing game.
    Saved.
Followed all directions to a T in creating the ISO.
    Burned the game.
    Game swap works just fine.
Open drive, insert back-up, select mission 2.
    Game screen goes black.
    Nothing happens.

    What's going on?

    Slim.
    Console: SCPH-77001
    CD Player: 2.0
    DVD Player: 3.11U

Maxwell disc, I think... it was the only DVD R I had lying around...
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Will Dual Layer DVDs work in the PS2?
I have a load of these...

Hmm did you block the ps2's sensors as well as the disk stopper? If i recall correctly, there should be two sensors inside, and another above the power button.

I have this same problem! I could have made this exact post. I too have a PS2 77001 model, and I blocked 3 sensors (to swap in a disc with the tray open. Are there more sensors than this!?) -- and I named my Fat32 USB drive (the stick drive) and a power supply one, and I put a PS2 folder in there with ULE and Noobie package, but the screen goes blank. The usb drive never seems to be read. I tried going into socom II's internet settings and testing the connection to see if the usb would be read then, but still nothing. I admit my research has been shoddy and here & there. Will someone please point me in the right direction? I have a legit copy of Agent Under Fire, and TDK -R dvds. One with Agent & free mcboot on it, but I only get a black screen.

I did follow those directions RandQalan. They were through 3 youtube videos (now today makes 4 because I watched another) and I did everything they did.

I am starting to believe it may be the disc.

Edit: I remade my image of Agent and did all of the steps over again, and now it works perfectly. The usb reads after the disc reads so if you have a blank screen it must be the disc.
