i have the silver 90001 and i did the agent under fire method it installed it to the memory card and when i start the ps2 it does not show the options that you are supposed to have?

i also checked the MC at the browser and it shows it installed in the MC

so does this mean it does not work??

    +rep for any answers

i dont know if this means anything

It seems that you have a console with the 2.30 BIOS. Unfortunately, the feature which FMCB exploits was removed from this and newer BIOS versions. For more info check out this thread: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f153/scp...rmation-63103/ (SCPH-9XXXX v18 PS2 FMCB Compatibility Consolidated Information)

If you still wish to use homebrew with the console without ruining your drive by performing the swap trick every time then your best bet is to find a copy of Swap Magic 3.6 or newer which gives you an ELF booting feature.

from thet picture it looks like uLE has started. that error message is normal for a first time boot when there is no config file for uLE. press select and configure uLE.
if this is the screen you get to at boot then all you need to do is configure uLE or just use the file browser to find OPL ,or whatever homebrew you want to run , on the MC or a USB drive......

I'm guessing that picture is from when they were installing it using the swap method, not when they boot the console. If not, then you're quite right.

What? Why should it do it (one reasonable explaination, or a proof please...)?
    Sorry, but 'my 2ct': bs.

I believe his console is compatible
I don't think so,... It could be, but only if it shows the FMCB-Logo, which he didn't mentioned. But he simply could take a look at the uLE-Screen which shows the ROMVER-String of ever PS2's BIOS.

i did the swap disc trick with agent under fire and it is an actual sony MC and not a bootleg.

i installed it about 4-6 times i did multi version, normal, and even tried launch

but when i use launch it takes me to the red insert ps2 disc screen and if i take the game out when i launch mcboot from the setup it just hangs at the logo from when you launch.

when i boot normal nothing shows up in my browser so i am assuming i am not compatible

I can vouch for this, I can't explain it though.

When I installed FMCB to a £5 64MB card it'd do all kinds of things (except what I wanted it to) when I booted my console. This included hanging at the FMCB logo, booting into the regular OSDSYS but going straight to the MC Browser and launching uLE.

so that screen shot was after a swap.. not from a boot?
as TNA said. next time you get uLE to run use it to check the ROMVER string. if it starts 0230 then you are out of luck....

    @ yuki.
those chinese cards are too slow to read sometimes thats why you get variable results. but they seem ok for saves.... so my son uses a SONY card in slot 2 as boot and a 64 Mb card in slot 1 for saves.... some games are a bugger though. they say the card is full even though it has over 32Mb left.....
