ok, I have a few ps2's that where brought to me in parts. one of the drives is a Sanyo R model laser, and the other is a KHS-400C. Both mobo's fire up and are mod'ed, but neither laser works in the ps2's, so assuming both lasers are shot. So this leads me to how can I tell which laser goes with which mobo?

If the lasers work, either laser in either board will boot a DVD ROM Game but no other type of media will boot. If it is the wrong type laser it will click and be slow to start up.

If you try both lasers in both boards and no combination will boot a Blue CD based game then the lasers are bad or the boards are bad, try a laser that you know works for sure. If the boards work it will be very easy to figure out from a laser that you know works.
