I need URGENT help please!! (Disc tray won't close) –

I opened the disc tray, then turned around and accidentally kicked the disc tray while it was open (very lightly though), now it can't close.. it moves a little bit, but gets stuck because as the tray goes in, the part below the tray with the lasers and such (I have a fliptop so I can see it) begins to come up and so it comes up to a height where it just blocks the tray from moving inwards any further.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've searched google and some things I read were either pushing the tray in very hard by force (tried it lightly, didn't work, didn't want to damage PS2 any further) or removing the tray and realigning gears/lasers or something (no idea how to do that)

Update - I removed the two screws on the cd drawer, and managed to get my tray to go back to its orignal position, but I don't understand how the gears work. The distance that the tray moves is like twice the distance that the white plastic gear thing can travel, so now my tray won't open, but I can still play games through the top...
Does anyone have picture solutions or something? Or can they tell me exactly how to realign the tray properly with the gears?
I'm thankful I can still play games, but I would like to use my tray as well.

...sup' bro,i had a simular problem when attempting a ghetto style tray eject with homemade key(when you slip the key under the tray to pull it out),i got it about a third of the way out, after i could get it to slide out all the way but it wouldent close completley,i examined/f'd with it,finnally got feed up,did some wiggling of the tray and drive, and basically pushed it in really hard, but still gently,it snaped into place and now works fine,no problem ejecting at all...it took some tweeking but just be persistant n's*ite...i dont know if i helped any,but thats my 2cents...good luck bro...babyfetus7.
