I NEED HELP QUICK!!! (limited internet) –
Sorry about the annoying title but it's true. I'm in a different country right now and I have very limited internet use. This hour maybe the only chance I get. With that, here it goes:
I'm in Iran right now on vacation, and I can get more bang for the buck. I can get ps2 and get it modded for much much less than the US. But I have some questions.
1. Will the region of the ps2 and games matter if it is chipped? I have a modded NTSC xbox, and I can switch the video mode, alhtough I have never needed to even w/ PAL games. Is the ps2 the same? I can get an adaptor for the electricity, so that's no problem. But I'm wondering if I can play NTSC games on a modded PAL ps2.
2. I may not have enough room in my luggage to bring it back, and might have to send it to myself. How do you recommend I package it? Also, if I do have enough room, do you think a suite case gets banged around too much, or it'll be ok if I just pack a lot of clothes around it?
Thanks for any responses.
well bringing somethink electronic hidden in a suitcase from iran might not go over to well
In all honesty, I'd seriously recommend against bringing in strange, quasi-legal electronics from Iran. Spend a little extra and get one from the US or whatever country your based out of.
The hassle of trying to explain to customs *why* you have a PS2 in your suitcase simply won't go over well. I've been through customs a lot, and those people are completely devoid of any sense of humor or understanding.
yeah ,, and you might get stuck with a jap version that would really suck!
I have a Matrix Infinity moded U.S. PS2 and bought some games from HongKong (that's part of Asia in case some of you don't already know) and they won't boot.
So you MAY (just may) have problems playing U.S. games too.
I bought over 50 games on vacation from Thailand, and brought back without any problem. On PS2 console is fine, not a big deal, as long as you keep it in the luggage.
yeh but media is different then the console itself, I don't think they should give a lot of trouble..but who knows.

My friend did buy a PS2 when it first released in Hong Kong, asia, before US did. He brought it back to US no problem either. The PS2 is very much the same as you carry a laptop.
