i just got a Messiah 2

i haven't installed it yet, but i was wondering, i have some extra ps1 memory cards, will they work in my ps2 for ps2 backup games now thati have this chip?

you mean as in saving a ps2 game to a ps1 mem card?
fat chance...even if somehow, miraculously, the chip made them compatible, the ps1 card has very little room on it.

psx mem cards have 1/8 of the capacity of ps2 mem cards, and they are not compatible with eachother. dex drives will not read ps2 mem cards while ps2 games will not save to psx mem cards.

also, the messiah2 will not do anything to help you.

backup psx games will work with psx mem cards, but not backup ps2 games or original ps2 games for that matter.
