    Hi and sorry there are many explanations on the internet about mcboot i do that all byt he steps but when i start my ps and put my usb to copy the newbie packageand other files it doesn`t show the usb and i dont know what to do i have one memory card sony 8mb and i saw many times formaing the card how pls explain and thaks !!!!

    what are you using to copy the files from the usb stick to the memory card? you cant just copy the files onto the usb stick and plug it into your ps2 and expect it to do it itself. you have to use something like swap magic or the like. Or you can use a usb memory card adaptor and copy the files onto your memory card that way.

    hello thir, i am also trying to install free mcboot ,and no volunteers are available but reading your mess, to others would the installing of free mcboot on a MC would i need a certain serial number on the ps2 or the MC it;s self, my son own;s an older model ps2 and a 8mb MC , thank u so much...

    FMCB has to be installed . each install is "signed" to the MC that it is installed to . this is why it can not be copied to another card.

    there are various methods of installing FMCB. install service is the best but it is hard to contact an installer now with the new rules.

    Swapmagic is the next easiest method you will need either 3.6 or 3.8 coder.

    some do the swap trick, 007 agent under fire seems to be the most successful game for this but it is a bit more involved.

    look for the first post in the FMCB installers thread. there are also lots of tutorials on the various methods.....
