i believe this wont work without some special 56k modem but im not sure....unless you have the BB version.
yeah i think your right it might just be dail up
there is one out there thats called BBnavigator that has a patch to translate it. I havent been able to find it and hear its not all that great anyways.
EGBrowser Lite is dial-up only, and regular EGBrowser is also likely the same way.
EGBrowser BB seems to be the only version that supports the HDD, but doesn't require it. It uses 128 MB of the HDD as a cache for recently viewed websites, and requires a broadband connection.
There is no English patch for it that anyone has brought to my atttention, although a manual/guide for it in English is on my list of things to do. I'm still working on sections of the PSBBN guide though, as that is easier to obtain, and more people have given me feedback that they are actually using the software.
EGBrowser is just an updated version of the Dreamcast web browser. It has support for more file types, but since it came out in 2002 and hasn't been updated since, it doesn't work properly with some current websites.
Anyone know where I can obtain a EGBrowser BB version?
Or any other LAN Web Browser that works from HDLoader...
centralstation and i tried it on my hdd and it runs but won't connet i'd like to get the EB BB one so of my friends would love to have it cuz the don't have computer (cheap guys ) but have ps2s and would keep them from using my computer
barf, in the ps2 snk games there is a web browser called netfront, the same one that is included in the PSBBN i guess, it should work with the BB adaptor...i'll give it try soon.
Sorry for the 4 year bump, but did anyone ever get any farther with this? The PS2 may be old, but it is still loved. I recently hacked mine for the first time with Free McBoot, and I'm very much interested in a working, NTSC-usuable browser still. I can't believe after all these years that no one has anything that works. My poor fatty PS2 deserves some love.![]()
One reason nobody has invested any development into Net surfing with the PS2 is because the Net is constantly evolving and the PS2's hardware is not. You can only do so much with the software before it reaches a point it doesnt work anymore.
Its more a 'novelty' now to surf the net from a ps2 and very limited compared to todays Browser standards.
