I'm been trying using alcohol120% but all I get is read errors... I tried the combination of clonyxl and clonecd and I get the same thing... clony says the cd protection is PSX/Libcrypt.
My goal is to either load it from HDL 0.8c or from a DVD-R the reason I do this is because ps2 can't most of the time read it.

Insert the original AR-disc into your PS2 and extract the files through uLE and copy it to a USB-Stick, or through host directly to your PC.
Probably some of them are only dummy-files.
    Create a new CD-Compilation.
Try to keep the exact LBA-Order.

I've done the same thing a few years ago, with MAX16 (Boot-CD).

    ??

If you did it wrong, you should get a grey screen, destroied sound and it won't work.
If you copy it on PS2, the way I told ya, it should work.

Thanks for the input, have you test this method before? the problem I'm getting is after I burn the image and load the cd using cogswap, on the first menu of armax I select the second option "MAX MEMORY" and it resets the ps2 and ask me to insert a ps2 disc format. My ps2 is not modded... do you know what is going on?

    Like I said,...
You got a version with a boot-disc, to be verified, not?
"MAX-MEMORY" reloads the OSDSYS, with MAX-MEM-Support.
You need a disc, where you can swap and start homebrew, or a game,...
