Ok. I Put A PS2 Game In My DVD Drive. It Shows A Folder Entitled "GAME" A SYSTEM.CNF File And A SLUS_XXX.04 File. I Was Just Wondering How Exactly A PS2 Reacts To A Game Being Inserted? Does It Read The SYSTEM.CNF File Telling It To Run The SLUS_XXX.04 File? Does A PS2 Only Read These SLUS_XXX.04 Files? Without The Help Of A 3rd Party Chip/Card/Exploit?

ps2 verfies the disk, whether it's a ps2 disk. if the check passes it parses system.cnf and launches the executable specified inside.

Without The Help Of A 3rd Party Chip/Card/Exploit?
    that doesn't matter.

What Determines If It is PS2 Disk? Any Files On The Disc That Makes The PS2 Recognize It As A Compatible Format? Dummy Files? Or Something Of That Nature?
