How do I find out if a PS2 game has progressive scan support?

Specifically, games that don't have it in the ingame options menu.

Is there any way to enable it if I run the game from HDLoader? And will I have to re-enable it to progressive scan mode every time I want to play?

I noticed that the 480p prompt is supposed to be triggered when the ps2 logo pops up, so is there any way to do this with the ps1 exploit running hdloader?
