    Ok, in cd players there is that circle thing that spins the cd but in the ps2 there is no spinney thin just the tray and then the disc spins without anything spinning it, how is that possible

    How does the disc spin!

    When the tray goes in "that spiny thing" pops up from underneath the disc picks it up and traps it between itself and the white disc in the drive lid. Then spins :P

    yup yup juss like the CD-ROM drive in ur computer...the pivot rises up when the tray is closed, thats why the PS2 makes noise when the tray is dirty cuz it spins while held slightly above the tray so if there is too much dust and dirt there the disc scrapes against this
