    no a ps2 without a modchip cant read dvdr's, it will need a mod of some sort, the only true way to find out what modchip you have is to either open up your console and check for yourself or go back to the place you got it from and ask them what modchip they had installed in there, thats the best i can say i mean its kinda hard to just guess a modchip

    Hello everybody...

    I need to know what is my modchip too. I dont dare to open it. I also moved far away from the shop where i purchased the PS2.

    I have to hold the Reset button untill the blue light of eject button lights on to play PS1 games and watch DVD Movies.

    Other question. What modchip have dev2 other then MI and DMS4?
