How to boot VCD/SVCD with DMS3?

I got the Animatrix on 2 SVCD, but I don't know how to boot them with my DMS3 PS2. Realityplayer won't play it, and DVD mode neither.

i dont think ps2 can play vcd/svcd no matter what chip you have.. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

The ps2 can't play Svcd's or Vcd's. You can burn them to a dvd and it will work.

potentially, i beleive it can - but i think that no one can be bothered to write a program to decode the digital video

pity - i cant and wont do it, yet i want it, and no one else is gonna do it either. sigh...

Please help...I have a magic2 modded chip and rented madden 2004. I got the dnas error 402 then I diabled the chip and it let me online but boots me whenever I am about to start a game. Is this because it finds my chip when I try to play a game?

someone'd have to pretty much write a dvd player homebrew to play svcds

maybe, or for svcd one could theoretically get the mpeg 2 stream to the mpeg 2 decoder in the ps2, the main problem is that svcd has a different (smaller) resolution than dvd, you'd also have to come up with a way to decode the mpeg layer 2 audio.
