i got a v14 with cc1.1. can static damage the ps2? i keep it on top of my tv (there's a thing of cloth between the ps2 and the tv). i use 2 wireless logitech cordless actions, so i'm not worried bout the ps2 falling.

i remember a week ago i was pluggin a usb hdd into the port, and there was this blue spark. i was like oh crap!
but it turns out the ps2 was fine.

so as long as the powers plugged in, static will just go through w/o frying anything?

when i put in or take out a disk, i put my finger on the middle round spin thingy (no clue what it's called), and i feel a shock. this has happened many times already. is that bad?

my tv's actually not hot at all on the top. like while it's running, i put my hand on it, and it doesn't feel warm at all. i put my ps2 on a box on the floor, run for a few hours, and it's about the same temp as running on top of the tv

yes that is bad.. that is still a form of a electrical surge. yeah its not has bad has a thunder storm, but to have constant unstable electricy come off your ps2 is not good. does this happen if you use a different t.v? if not try a surge potectoer or even get it off the tv.
