anyone know how big of flash rom is on the aladdin

with the future bios being 512k i would hate to buy a 256k chip

why do people worry about the size of the chip on the mod??
so what if it is 256k ?
they will always release a 256k bios...that works with ur xbox...the rest is just some fancy extra...and if you really want the fancy bios...just use the bios loader off ur HD...

ps:sofar everything that a hacked bios can offer...it can be replace with a homebrew software on ur hd...

for now 256k will work
but the upcommming dms xbox modchip has 2Mb
why would they spend the extra money to do that?
something big is comming (you can quote me on that)
remember the first xbox chip 29 wire xtender or what ever it was
it could not change the hdd or flash upgrade
what would happen if everyone just said this is all we need

i am not talking about the function of the bios here...before someone jump the gun and say that the more the function in a bios the bigger the bios size...(that is sometimes true..and in the case of the recent bios release by x-ecuter)

i am talking about since you can now load bios off ur hd there is really no poing to use a 2Mb modchip when you can just use a cheap 256kb modchip and load a bigger bios off ur xbox hd....

Not that the Extender with 29 wires could be reflashed anyway, that does not deppends on the bios version or the number of wires, but what kind of chip you use. An extender bios when it's programmed into a flashrom, can be easily reflashed via evox. Anyway don't think that so many big things are coming, except that you can chose which bios you would like to start, the bigger the flash the more versions you can choose. (actually it makes no sense for me, a WORKING Evolution bios (or X-ecutor) and the original for online gaming are perfect for me. For those who want to select from 1000 bioses at start, the newer (and bigger) chips may be good. I won't pay a buck for something that is completly useless for most of us) And a chip, and its functionality does not deppend on the size of the flash, but deppends on the contents of the flash...

i agree i dont need the big bios
but the guys that make the x bios are looking to these things that i know of
ftp server built in
auto format of a new drive(put a blank drive in and it formats it)
137GB+
hdd boot menu(have 2 hdd in and chose which on to boot)(rumor)
support for 2 hdd at once(rumor)

the (rumor) ones iu have heard for several sources but not a direct statement from the makers them selfs
