    Need help
I have done many modchips installs on all version with very few problems. Just did a V9 with MagicV. After what looked liked a perfect install I test booted the device. Black screen, so I did the usual check on 3.3, gnd and Y+R. All was well. Still black screen. So I decided to back out of install, all wires removed, all excess solder removed. No bridged pins, all fuses are good and still a black screen. On Power up Blue LED comes on and PS2 DVD spins, laser stays on, eject works but nothing but a black screen. As I had said, this is not my first install, I have done V9 and 10 with great success and usually boot on first try after install.

I have checked this forum thorughly and cannot find much info on this exact problem. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    I empathize.

If you aren't getting the electron screen, then the bios is the issue. Check again points m-v for bridges.

The problems in Europe with this model are the result of crappy LA chips. Haven't heard of that being an issue here, though.

Might be an opportunity to ask the customer for their receipt... warranty them up to a v10.

Did you use the published power point on the Magic V diags? If so, that might be your problem. I did the same thing and it resulted in 2 dead boards.
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.

    Hi:

Ive seen that problem in a v9. All things works, including eject and the tray opened but there was no video and no audio.

Well, I removed the Magic V entirely and the ps2 came back to normal mode. I thinks its due if you use long wires there are problem patching the Bios Code.

Have you removed the chip and still the problem?? I removed it and my problem was solved. Then I installed a Matrix MXL2 and it worked fine.

Check your bios and the DVD/CD controller pins looking for bridges. Also look if you have used Vias that no pins of CD/DVD controller are grounded.

Good Luck! This issue is just a cause of the chip I think. I have only seen this problem with Magic V, never with Matrix, Messiah2 or DMS3

    Good Luck!

thanks for the replies, I will try removing the batt for a few hours to see if this helps. I did try the published power point by magic team. After this I will use the DMS power point.

Galgamo, the chip has been completley removed and all connections are clean
