Help Please Ps2 Problems
Help Please Ps2 Problems –

I really need help, this is what I got,
I have a PS2 (DUH), Ive had it for about 2-3 years and last week I decided I wanted to 1)buy a PS2 HDD and 2)Used mr browns memory card exploit. Just so you know up till 2 days ago, my PS2 games worked terrific, never a problem. I went and purchased a HDD(Ps2 official) and got the exploit I needed to use HDLOADER. I installed the HDD, it shows up, its fine, then I did the exploit, it loaded the files, and BAM it finished good. I put in the PS1 game to run the exploit and BAM, HDLOADER works. I get the screen and all. NO problems but heres when shit hit the fan. I go to install a game with HDLOADER and it tells me the PS2 disk(DVD) is not an official disk/it cannot read the disk. I tried 10 other games and get the same thing. I went into a forum(MIRC- PS2scene) and no help there. So then I think is the PS2 booting ANY PS2 games(DVD FORMAT) and I try it CANNOT READ DISK ERROR. SO i remove the HDD and all memory card, SAME THING, sometimes get a DISK READ ERROR. I try a combination of things to no avail. I formatted the HDD, I deleted the exploit off my memory card, i turn up the disk speed, try to run the diagnosis tool that ps2 provides, Try putting on the HDD software, still the same thing, no load. THEN I TRY TO LOAD A PS1 GAME, BAM!!! it loads. THEN I try to load the old ps2 games with the blue side, BAM they work. THEN I try a music CD, BAM it works....Then I try a DVD MOVIE, cannot read disk. ITS like the machine cannot read DVD formatted disk types.
I called SONYs tech line, lol, no help at all, they say send it to them for repair.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Your laser most likely needs to be adjusted. You can search around the forums for tutorials for doing it.

Just read the FAQ. Your laser can be adjusted but it might need cleaning. Then again you could make it worse by doing it yourself. It only takes 1 to 3 weeks to do it. I hope this helps.

as messiahfan says send it out why adjust the laser pots just to have to replace the laser in afew months anyways. get yourself a free new laser and be happy for years unstyead of months with your old one.

what version do you have? You could try adjusting the white cogs at the back of the laser unit - first make a mark where the original setting is in case it gets worse.

i agree with mann75 - when it comes down to adjusting the laser your just gonna be buying yourself time enough to finish your game , playing backups ,dvd movies or games puts more stress on the laser than origonals do simply because we dont own those 10,000.00 dollar burners that the corporations own (obviously they are expensive for a reason) it just goes with the territory of playing backups . get a new laser or normally i would say get a newer unit but the new slim v12 ps2 is having some laser issues even without the mods.
