the resistor would probably say something like 470 (47R) or 473 (47k) or something similiar. Can you take a pic of where the resistor is missing. I can look through my pics of mobo's and try and ID it for you then.
Yeah - you can use a normal resistor with some good insulation
I aint got a decent cam, but from the pic it is the one to the right of ps5, it goes into ps5 from underneath 2 identical looking fuses / components, it is very small, solver with black in the middle and some very small writing, approximatley where the yellow dot is.

Just an update on this, i replaced the fuse with a standard 0.7A fuse (hard work getting it to fit inside the cage) and replaced the resistor with a standard 47k resistor and everything is now fine, the fan spins at the right speed, thanks again kl1k for your help.
