Help me i want to f'ing die right now :-( –
My ps2 slimline isnt getting any power.
I opened it up to try and permanantly fix the two switches inside after using the damn glue trick because my tape kept coming off. After the glue, that f'ing little switch got stuck, not the one by the lid on the power switch........ The other one. I tried to unstick it and well ended up prying it off, which honestly doesnt really look like it did much, as some places that sell caps for that particular switch showed them taking that piece off.
So that piece is now off, and totally busted.
(the reason i tried fixing the switch is that after i glued it the disc would no longer spin as it did with the tape on - something i needed to fix though because my backups would stop spinning because of loose ducttape at inopportune times which of course wouldnt allow them to load back up with restarting everything.
During the process the little cable to the power button got ripped in half. Not salvagable. Saw some online for about ten bucks and I just dont have the kind of money being on disability with no job and no way to get one etc. Tore up my finger trying to pry off the shielding to see if anything on the board was messed up. I got that off after I finally found something to function as a small enough screw driver. Then I got the bottom shielding off. (note this is NOT a system thats ever had a modchip in it).
So I can probably never fix the top shielding again but the bottoms intact, the laser works and has never NOT worked, and the little net card I plugged back in and nestled everything back into the bottom section of the case, top shielding discarded, bottom shielding aside and put away, back switch completely gone, cable to power switch destroyed and thrown away, and the power switch really probably garbage now as well.
Plugged her in and touched some wire across a few of the connections around the little jack thingy where the power switch cables supposed to be inserted.......... a little spark across two got it to turn the system on!!!!!
So I tirned it off and figured I could mark down which two they were, and solder a makeshift switch between the two to be my new power switch.
(figured the same config would work to make a tray sensor switch to play backups with action replay max evo) No go, I plug it in, touch all the contacts, but nothing happens. The fan wont even go on, and nothing seems burned.........
How do I get this working at all?
How can I tell if somethings bad if nothing looks burned?
How to make the switches? Connections?
Sorry to tell you this but I think that's pstwo is dead... Check all the fuses, I bet one of them is blown. Use the search function to find the fuse diagram.
