Alrighty... let's suppose we do this thing. We pick the month of September, and for the next 6 weeks we advertise the heck out of it. September rolls around, and our nifty little group doesn't buy a single title. And that assumes that no one just pays lip service to the plan, and doesn't run out at the first chance they get to snag GT4 anyway.

So? We impact sales by... what? 1%? Heck, let's be really generous and say 5%. Meanwhile, XBOX sales will not be impacted. So here's what happens. Sony complains about relatively average sales (just not spectacular), while MS continues on its' merry way, making more money.

The end result... more game makers realize the money is in XBOX gaming, and next year you see more titles ONLY for the XBOX. What have we accomplished? Nothing, except I don't have my copy of GT4 until October.

Gents, time to move on... how about we start a massive letter writing campaign and flood that stupid British judge with hate-mail???

    Don't count on it
Sony wont worry about 1% - especially as they will catch a hint of what is going on (it will be linked to at other forums and such till it reaches them) heck 1% is generous if you ask me

I'm just going to ignore the modchip law subject because very few people aren't bitching

*kind of a change of subject here*

so it IS true then that mod chips are illegal in the uk now???

why dont you people flood the judge with hate mail??? its your console, you should be able to mod it all you want. the reason shit happens like that is cuz people DONT stand up for their shit. EVEN IF IT DOES TURN OUT TO BE A WASTE OF TIME, THE POINT IS YOU ****ING TRIED.
so make a law that says you can have a mod chip, but you cant use it to play burnt games (no one would listen, but thats not the point).
what about CD burners, RIAA rants and raves about people DLing music, but they dont say a word about burners. so youre friend has the cd you want, you freakin burn it, not only is it quicker, but you instantly get to listen to it in any cd player.
its the same idea, they CAN (and should) allow mods.

but whatever, i posted this whole thing knowing you guys would bitch and argue to the ends of the earth.

but it was fun anyway ROCK ON

also, that dude who said all he has to do is work an extra hour to buy a 50 munies game is freakin retarded... not everyone makes that much munies, SO LETS RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE YEEEEAAAAHHH.

also, this has got to be the funniest/nastiest lookin thing ive seen all week

The price to make games are expensive? DOUBTFULLY....Do you people know the price it is to makes shoes?? a couple of dollars! Think about it...A couple of dollars for shoes that could 40, 60, 100, 140???? So, I'm really doubting a damn game would be expensive to make...Like somebody else said I believe. Just look at the time it takes us to actually COPY the damn game...10 minutes! It costs us about .75 cents for a blank dvd, and 10 minutes of time! A couple minutes to put a label on it if your that particular.

think 'bout that... how many programmers are working on a game? certainly not 3-4.. maybe 30-40 is more accurate...or even more.. now these mofos all want big bucks so they all have (i think lol) 30 40k salaries (us? can? lol) that aside.. you've got the marketing to do too... that's a lotta money.. ad on tv is sure no cheap market ads in gaming magazines either.. then packaging.. that's probably a couple of grands too.. testers, coffee machine repairs.. making a game is pretty expensive!

I suppose 3d programming must be a bit more complex than 2d... and the gaming market is probably way bigger than in the snes time.. And don't you forget.. games get bigger and bigger and bigger.. there's a few 9gb games!! 9gb!!! how big was a n64 game?? anyone?? lol...

yeah they're making money.. as anyone wants.. there are very few big stores that cares for it's costumers.. uh is this spelled right? costumers? I'm really not sure lol .. anyway my point.. games get more expensive, but we (generally) get more from the game than older cheaper games.. 50 bucks sucks.. but whatcha gonna do..stop gaming? that way the 50$ stays in your wallet.. but no new splinter cell or gta for you mate! (don't bash on the games mentionned they're merely examples)

dont you even dare hope that they will sell a game 2$ cause they invested 3 millions in making the game and hope to sell 1.5 millions games and be flush with what they spent on creation.. that's foolish

I can go to any Walmart or Superstore and buy most of the "Greatest Hits" for under $30 CDN. I can also go to any EB or Rogers Video and get a used game for under the same price.

So here's a hint, don't buy brand new games, take some time and enjoy the ones that are a few years old.

$ony is a business. They care about their bottom line more than consumers, employees, etc.

That said, I am sure they aren't price gouging (That was the original argument, right?). Staying competitive is part of protecting your profit margin, lest Xbox would do a hostile takeover.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but boycotting a product so you can buy more of it later doesn't make much sense to me.

You mean Sony doesn't care about us because they charge us a lot for games? LOL, if you can make money off of people do it. There is no sympathy for the poor gamer.

Why are we even having this conversation?? We're hackers and modders. Who cares what they want for their titles... the higher the price, the better a modchip looks.

    I say double the price!
