HELP! Dvd drive wont spin

Hey, i aquired a broken PS2 off of a friend with a couple problems. He said that at one time it could take up to 5mins for a game to load, but when i put the game in it wont spin.

Does anyone know what would cause the dvd drive to not spin?

P.S. I cant do anything involving a controller, thats the other thing he broke.

no, its not that. When i put a disk in it just doesnt attempt to spin, it doesnt have chance to read it.

prolly a burnt controller

your laser may be duff too as a result anyway aswell

if you have taken it apart. check to see if the ribbons are still attached. when i was modding my ps2, the ribon fell off of my cd drive so it would just say insert disc. check on that maybe it will help yah.

All ribbons are in correctly.

Maybe a fuse is out on your board? im not sure what else to say
