Think I screwed up my xbox
Anyways I have ff12 and its been an ongoing problem where my disks wouldnt load and I would get dirty disk messages or it can't read. Anyways I called sony and theres not much they could do. So it hought I would try to clean the lense of the dvd drive itself. Anyways everything went just fine however when Im trying to reassemble everything there are two sorta digital cables. I need to hookup into little splots in the dvd drive. I believe this transfers the data and power to the dvd drive. Anyways they are silver ribbons with like blue ends that somehow are suppose to fit in there however they are really short..
I dissassembled everything just to try and get them in and they dont really stay in they keep popping out. I cant get them to stay. IF anyone dissassembled their ps2 before I'm sure they know what I'm talking about....................
Someone PLEAAASE HELP

I know what your talking about, but you shouldn't have had to remove any ribbons to get to the lens. I would suggest taking it to a store like electronic boutique or other store that repairs ps2's. But I'm sure someone has a manual that can help you out. You could just get a mod and a HDD and use the winhip application along side toxicos flash and never have to use the reader again. My lens is dead so this is what I'm going to do soon.

dude, tell a friend to help you...
1. get to a well lit place
2.tell your friend to slightly lift the drive and have it "hovering" just above its place.
3. take some tweezers, stick the stuff in (my technique: stick one corner in first, then the other...I just ain't able to stick it in directly...
)
4. don't twist the ribbons
5. the ribbon that connects onto the laser unit is usually secured by clips...be sure to unclip/clip them back when removing/popping in the ribbon
btw
think about getting some longer ribbons (online), they are pretty expensive, though...however, they save you much work
