The MBR is installed, not pasted... You need to update the MBR partition header with the exact size (in sectors) and starting sector for the MBR.
It will fail loading the MBR if it's not done the right way...

Also, the region free MBR has no ATAD patches. Only the header was re-hashed to make it region free. No changes in the contents of the file.

So, i was wrong. I thought the hdl will install the mbr partition and i only have to "correct" the mbr with the regionless one...
I am searching for a way to install the hosdsys without the need to use the installation cd.
Every time i had the open the ps2 to make a swap via ule.

You talked about a regionless, atad-patched one. Could i get one for testing?

    Greetings.

uLE does not create the whole stuff, all it does is allocate the space and name the partitions. You need a tool to install the MBR and re-hash the MBR partition.
After that you need to paste all the OSD files on their respective partitions.

Well it's working currently but the files are unprotected. I don't want to hand it away in this state. >.>

I used the old, classic hdloader to format the hdd. It created the partitions table.
I only use ule to swap an original dvd with the patched hdd-install-dvd.

    Yes, has be done.

Okay, clear words. I hope you think of me...

    Yeahh, cool! Thank you l_oliveira!

After modifying the mbrfix-poc i am no longer in the need to use the patched hdd install dvd to get a booting pal hdd.

    The procedure:
-Use ule to format the hdd.
    -Using the mbrfix
-Copying the needed files to the right location

There's no need to mod anything, just put the SONY MBR into a file "MBR.KELF" and you're ready to go. Is that what you did ?

You mean the filesize of the mbr.kelf is not fixed?
I filled the file with zeros and pasted the mbr at the beginning.
Okay, i will try it with a normal sized mbr...

Anything you toss at it should work.

Keep in mind that the MBR is not a normal KELF file.
