    hey all ^_^

So I made the mistake of buying HDadvance and heard afterward about HDloader. so I want to switch, but how can I do the independance exploit using only HDadvance? (that's all I have, there is no friend with a modded PS2, and mine ain't)

thanks for the answers in advance :P

Do you need help on installing the exploit using the HDL/HDA method?
Or do you want to extract the ELF file from your HDA dvd?

well I wanted to know how using the exploit with HDA, but I've found it alone after some time, yet I have an Error when trying to load the exploit installer (CDVD.irx missing) my MC has more than 4 megs free and is official, so it's probably that I have to do another iso of it (I did it using the Independance Compiler, I'll try the old way)

    or is is something else?

When do you see this error? If it is on boot up, then you need to put the CDVD.IRX file in the Badata-System folder. I'm not familiar with the compiler, I'm a fan of the old way, it's simpler.
The CDVD.IRX file is the driver for the dvd rom btw.

    Hi Ghil

I'm very keen to do the same change from HDA to HDL like you did, but
    i can't find a good tutorial...

    What i did:

    1. transfer the exploit.iso to the hdd
    2. start the exploit via HDA with non mode activated
    3. see the grey menu with the SELECT option
    4. i browsed the menu and could configure something but i didn't understand
what i should do now to start the HDL

Could you or someone help me, plz?

    Thanks

Xzip, you are trying to install the exploit for the first time correct?
I don't know what you are doing from steps 3+4, but here's another method if you have a USB thumb drive. Make an iso for uLauchElf, install that on the hdd, boot your HDA dvd, run the uLaunchElf iso, plug in your USB drive, and copy the exploit files to your MC from the pen drive in uLaunchElf. I keep the ULE iso on the hdd because I find it useful from time to time, plus that way I can run ULE if I don't have my trigger disk but have my HDA disk.

    so here's what I did:

I did an exploit iso (with Independance Compiler, version 4.1) with both ULaunchElf and HDLoader. I transfered it using normal settings with WinHIIP (important, it didn't let me download it with HDL_dump), and run it with HDA. then it was time to boot with the trigger disk (a PSone disk) and the MC, configure Ule and everything went smooth
