I'm new to all this and wanted to mod my PS2, I knew it was launch but found it yesterday it was version one and now no one wants to mod it.

Looking at my options now, I could do HD Loader, but looking at the price of everything I'd rather get a new PS2.

How much could I get for a working PS2 on eBay? Just the PS2, 1 controller and call cables. And could I get a new PS2 anywhere under 150, or somewhere online with free shipping and no tax? It would be nice if I could get $100 for my PS2 on eBay (saw broken ones go for 60-70) and 50 dollars difference wouldn't be much.

But then comes the second question, I see that Duo 2se is only upto Version 10, PS2 Slim is version 12 correct? So then I couldn't mod it?

if you have v1 keep it just change the laser to a 400c. and the chip you will want is the duo chip and their is modders in the forum that will do your install. check out loy he does as he says "will install anything". will come out to be cheaper than buying a new pstwo.

Well considering I would sell my old PS2, and probably get around $100, it would be the same cost to buy a new laser or not. THing is I'm hearing bad things about the PS2slim now

they have the fix for the pstwo now that will cause your system no problems. but you will be surprised to see how many people like the older version ps2 over the new slim.
