i would wait a couple months until xbox360 drops rumored (probably true) 100usd price drop (it should be more considering the upgrade in parts like a bigger hdd (100gb))
ps3 employs far greater copy-protections in both hardware & software. for the software, securom like method was chose & cell processor has a built-in security levels that even linux is NOT running at the lowest level
since sony supported developers are using raw sounds & texture data + less efficient mpeg2 cut-scenes are making little bit too much for dvd to handle not to mention that the transfer speed needed.
i even heard that one of the game for ps3 uses 4gbytes of data for a single level; this means that bd drive will constantly reading data from the disk which is a bad news as the fragile bd drive (well based on ps/ps2 machines...tradition continues, right?) is very likely to fail less than a year...think about failing bd drives from 500+usd machines
