Hey
I just got myself Guitar Hero 2 (PAL) after playing the NTSC version at my buddies PS2. But I noticed some difference.
I completed the track "Mother" by Danzig (Tier1, Song 2) on both versions with 5 stars. Yet on the PAL version of the game, the 5 stars are golden. But only on that particular song. On "shout at the devil" the stars are just the black outline on both, PAL and NTSC.
I play on medium, and i finished "mother" with 5 stars, 99% perfect notes. That's not the first time i beat a song 99% on GH2, but the first time I got golden stars
does someone know anything about them? Why did i get them? do I get something special?

You get five gold stars when you play a song 100%. The 99% completed probably means you missed the holding portion of a longer note, but hit the initial strum, and so still got the gold stars.

Whether you hold a note or not you get credit.
I dont think its possible to get gold on 99% or less.
Must be PAL making it easier or making mistakes.
You can get 3 gold stars though if your bored enough.
