I've noticed a problem that im wondering if anyone else has or knows of a fix. I have played gran turismo 3 and 4 origs on a ps2 v4, v7, and v12 with component video to two different (but very similar) JVC tvs. At certain times in-race the video appears to 'shake'. It almost looks like the scan lines get flipped and its drawing the second set first, giving a slightly blurred, amorphous appearance. It doesnt do it all the time, but seems random and will only will do it in-race. Otherwise, the video is flawless. No other games show this problem, backups or origs.

Anyone notice this anywhere else or maybe know what could be causing it?

This is actually a known bug in GT4. It happens to me too in some tracks, using a non-modded PSTwo.

if you are talking about the blur, that happens, after u bumped into a wall/car, thats meant to be this way, coz it is their stupid try to stop players like me to play gt with using the limits of the game, and not doing a perfect race.

No im talking about a 2 scanline sort of blur but it looks more like the lines are just mismatched. i too see the blur, and fyi if youre in any other view but first person you dont see it, so just get used to racing in the roofcam view (not the complete third person) and its all good.

uhm, i get the screen shake and i always use 3rd person view (outside the car). view has nothing to do with it, this is a known issue with gt4 and many reviewers commented on it and why Sony wouldn't have fixed it.

heh, I was going to open a thread for this today...
Well, in GT3 I never noticed this, but a friend of mine said he's got the same on GT3, but seldom. On GT4, I get this almost every race (normally before the race starts). Sucks.
Another bug is that even when you set the metrics to Km/h the odometer is still counting in miles.

Its a issue with the way the game does its interlacing (480i).

If you play the game in 480p or 1080i mode providing your GT4 is NTSC, you won't get the interlacing/screen shaking problems.

Another game with interlacing issues is Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution but that doesn't support progressive scan.

strangely, i dont have this problem. i'm playing the pal version, thats forced to 50hz and i'm connected to the tv over rgb-scart, maybe that could make a difference.

And i'm playing in inside-view all the time.
