So I bought an old copy of Gran Turismo awhile back, and finally decided to play it recently. Only thing is, it seems to have issues on both my PS3 and my PS2. On the PS3, the console/emulator software likes to toggle the Digital/Analog switch any time I switch tracks. On the PS2, although I have two cards in the slots (1 8MB Sony card with FMCB, 1 16MB third-party card that I've never had problems with before), neither is recognized by the game while I try to save. To make matters worse, the laser can barely read the disk; in fact, the game crashed last time I played it because it couldn't load the cars or tracks in Arcade mode.

Any ideas on circumventing these problems?

You need a PS1 memory card to save on PS2.

    Yes, unfortunately.

You can, however, copy your Playstation saves onto a Playstation 2 memory card for storage, I believe. But saving and loading of game saves in a Playstation game can only take place with a Playstation memory card.
