Getting MAC addy on Ps2 NE
Getting MAC addy on Ps2 NE –
Hello all. I have a rather simple question...is there a prog/app/tool I can download & burn on CD that when inserted in my Ps2 can tell me what the MAC (PHysical Addy) for my Network adapter is? My ps2 is modded so I can boot cd-r/dvd-r's.
At my school, we need to register the MAC addy before we can go online w/ it...any help will be appreciated.
i think the network setup disc that comes with the adapter can do it
also, did you take out the adapter and look for a MAC printed on it on the label
I opened up my network adapter and looked inside, and there was no mac addy. I tried running the network setup disc, but could not find where it tells you the Mac address. I ran through the setup wizard but it didn't tell me it...anything else I can do?
If you can put your ps2 on somebody's home network you can just peak in the router's config menu and get the mac addy from there. Also, if I may suggest, you may want to just get a router yourself that supports mac cloning. Once you have this set up, any device you have hooked up will appear to have the mac address programmed into your router. This way you don't have to worry about having multiple addresses set up with your school or contacting them if you ever need a new pc/network card or ps2 network adapter.
The MAC can be sniffed by connecting it to a PC. Try asking whoever is in charge of the net in your school, they will probably be able to help (if the school uses DHCP it is even visible in the logs of the server. All depends on if they want to help you or not).
