game shark / codebreaker not working on ISOs

did anyone fix this problem? I have a jap scph 30000 with magic 3.1 and everything works fine except when i try to cheat on a ISO game with either GS2v3 or CB v6 (ISOs also). it would say game cannot boot when i try to start the game.

the GS and CB work fine on originals, only fail on ISOs.
would i need to buy the actual cheat device for this to work, weird considering how my machine has everything else working...

Magic series have always had problems with gameshark or similar... most likely the fault of the chip.
