FreeMcboot help! installation problem!!

I have installed FCM in my memory card using the noobie package and it installed, but when i reset my ps2 scph-77006 and it just wont load the browser.its just a total black screen, but when i try to install a FCM 1.7 the one that has no ELF. file in the install folder, it installed correctly. and when i copy some ELF file in my usb like ,SMS,ESR,HDLoader, it wont work again and im back in the black screen of death.

im using a ulauncher.elf 4.12 cd version to load the elf. file in my usb flash drive.

BTW my ps2 in modded it can read pirated dvd games

You forgot to mention, which (kind of) modchip is installed.

Btw.: uLE 4.12 is ultra-old... Try uLE 4.42a.
The version-number isn't so much higher you might think, but in fact it is years newer and has a load of newer features + I'd say/think it is a lot less bugridden, than the old versions.

You forgot to mention, which (kind of) modchip is installed.

Btw.: uLE 4.12 is ultra-old... Try uLE 4.42a.

I'm sorry but i don't know the modchip use in my ps2. it was shipped to me from my uncle in Dubai and im in Philippines. and i don't bother to ask him because he shipped it to me seal and he probably don't know.

actually i tried thing later and i installed FMCB 1.8 in my memory card and i can see and select the browser but then again i have a problem. when i select modes like ESR, SMS, HDloader, GUI, my screen just pops "loading" then a black screen again. i have try to wait for a very long time like 30mins just to load. but nothing happen.then i reboot my ps2 then i check the file size in my memory card using ulauncher.4.42( its the only mode installed in my memory card thats working) the file size in my memory card compare to the actual file size in my USB(inside install folder) like SMS,HDloader is different the file size in my USB is much bigger than in my memory card.
then i try to manually copy those file in my USB to memory card. but the file size is not like it use to be, and sometimes like HDloader its 0KB. but the icon is there and when i try reboot my ps2 i can select the HDloader but it wont load.

problems:
Not all application in noobie package is installed
only ulauncher ,GUI ,HDloader is installed
only Ulauncher is working in noobie package when installed.
when i copy ELF. files in USB like SMS and put it in mc0\BOOT folder it just add an additional browser but dont work.
when i copy ELF files in USB when paste in MC the file size is different.

Then it could be impossible to find out, which chip you have installed.

FMCB's USB-Drivers or it's ELF-Loader seem to have problems, either with reading your files, or with executing it.
It could either be, that the files on USB can be 'listed&found' but reading it doesn't, or the files beeing corrupt,or...(something else)

Then it seems your files on MC are corrupted.

First of,... Try to install the newer FMCB-Nooby-Installpackage (2011), which includes OPL.
Questions:

-What happens if you put a RESCUE.ELF on USB. Does it 'auto-load' it, if you poweron/reset your PS2 with FMCB-MC and USB-Device inserted?
-What happens, if you hold a button (shoulder-buttons are mapped to the standard-apps) on poweron/reset?

I'm not sure why your files corrupt,... (atleast it seems they do)
It could be due to a hard-, or software-problem...

It even could be a combination (filesystem-errors or similar).
You might try to format the MC with MC-Annihilator v2, before you install FMCB again.

I just thought of something: Is your memory card a genuine Sony 8MB memory card?
Compatible memory cards might not work very well with FMCB, or with any other homebrew.

Did your memory card have enough space?
I remember that uLE 4.40 (4.42a too?) used to copy files even though there was insufficient space left, and the result was that the file was truncated (Giving a file that was smaller than the original).

It could have also been your modchip causing some problems with FMCB.

Indeed! I reported the file-truncation some time gone, too... And it was still in one of the newer versions (but with newer, it also could be the version from the first nooby-package, a.k.a. 4.39).

i dont know what rescue.elf is until now, ill be back to this when i tried it.
