I'm gettting a flashing red and green on bootup with a V3-gh007....fan doesn't spin and drive doesn't eject.Silver ribbon cable is fine,I checked continuity on.Modchip seems to be wired correctly, was checked with a multimeter, and a magnifiyinc glass for shorts.Anyways where should I be looking for this error, nothing came up on a search.

    Thanks

after a mod install.I just removed the power, ground and reset wires,to test if it would work with chip off(yeah I know only needed to remove the power wire, but might as well they are quick and easy to solder).....then i removed the points on the square cx chip, the cd/dvd controller I believe and braided all excess solder off.Still does it.Now I'm going to remove all the bios pins and clean up the solder there too, hopefully that prove to be the problem and I can just resolder everything. It better not be anything more serious....

As usual it was something simple, clip was loose on the ribbon cable that connects to the little board with the battery and a load of caps.Clipped it back on correctly and taped it down for good measure, boots a dvd-video perfectly. Now gotta resolder the bastard again...

for future instances, check this stuff first, so you dont have to redo the controller pins, since those are such a bitch to do. At one point, my v3 would just goto standby automatically and the red led would be flashing. I thought it was overheating, but i realized the reset cable was really torn up in one place and like 4 of the 7 wires in it were broken. so like i said, check cable connections and easy crap like that first, so this doesnt happen again.

I have this problem on a V5.The unit is chipped with a Messiah2,but 3.3v,gnd & reset were removed, just in case it was the mod.EVen replaced the reset/eject cable & switch...still the same.Unit will turn on for like 1 sec, then switches off & the reset led flashes red & green......is their any common fault here,or any1 know what to look for???All fuses are ok to.
    Thanks for any help.

I doubt its a solder bridge....this thing has been chipped for months, but i checked anyway, all looks good.I have heard of others having this fault,& I reckon its common,so i guess some1 that has had this fault would know what I'm talkin about.
It flashes red & green from standby,ie,reset switch not pressed.

Yep, i have this problem too on a v9. From standby the console powers up for about 5 sec with the eject light flashing and no fan spin, then the eject light stops and the reset flashes red and green, from this point the playstation has to be turned off by the rear switch. Its unmodded and nothing has been changed, it just stopped one day. Anyone able to help please, i have checked all the fuses i can find, thanks.
