Once I got hdloader I wanted to see if I could edit the tony hawk's pro skater games like I can so easily on the pc versions. So I came here and got some info then started trying stuff.

I used isobuster to get the files out to edit them, then cdgenps2 v3 to compile it back to an iso. Cdgenps2 v2 has a problem making iso files which caused the edited game to freeze, but it's fixed in v3. I used hdl_dump with the hdd connected to my pc to transfer the games.

So I got it to work today.. first with dave mirra bmx 2 because it's a cd game and it wouldn't take long to transfer to the harddrive. All I did on that game was add my name to the credits (which were stored in a text file), and it worked for once. Next I tried thps3, which worked somewhat. I edited a board, which was just an image file, to look like the one I actually own. It worked, but for some reason I had to load a female skater then switch it back to male for it to change the old board to the new one, which makes no sense. I have no clue where it was still getting the old board from, but it works anyway. The second thing I did was just rename model and texture files to turn objects into other ones, but that didn't work at all. I know exactly what I did wrong now and I'm going to do it again soon.

At least I found out for myself that it is possible to edit games and play them from hdloader, pretty soon I'll try modding thps4 and thug to get the extra levels and some other stuff. I don't know how many other people have tried this yet, but it is possible to do.

Yep, the best thing to do IMO is to stick your own music in games. I haven't done it myself, but it's nice to be able to do so.

Well I can extract the music files from thps, but I don't know much about the format. The songs don't have a filename but the rest of the sounds use .vag, which someone made a utility for that isn't up anymore. Plus then I'd have to figure out how to add it to the playlist.

My second attempt to do something failed too. I tried exchanging levels between aggressive inline and dave mirra 2. Dave mirra froze while loading, and on AI it loaded, but there was nothing there (you just fall).
