I've got a new PS2 fan, because my original stopped one day. When I opened the case, I found that the guy who had installed my chip had caught a wire from the fan when screwing it back together, squashing it. So I figured it would just be a simple swap-job.
So I put in a new fan, turn on the PS2, and it doesn't work. Now what has gone wrong? Did the original blow a fuse on the motherboard or something? Everything else works fine, it'll play both originals and backups, but obviously without a fan it heats up very quickly. I need to get the fan working, any ideas? Has anyone had this problem themselves?

yup you blew a fuse if you use a jumper wire and solder the 2 leads to a 5v power source and ground like the points on a neo 2.2 install you should be fine if it doesnt work just reverse the wires

Lol, I think it would still spin, even if it was dusty.

Are these the right points? I soldered different ones, so maybe that's the problem, if these are right i'll solder them.

what you circled is is what I used
(did you try reversing the points the other time you solder it)
If it didnt work try reversing the wires and that should do it unless your fan is bad
If the wires are reversed it wont hurt anything the fan just wont run
