Eyetoy on the PC –
I've been toiling over this thing for three days now. 0031, Windows picks it up as Namtai. It works fine on one of my computers but not the other. The troubleshooting part of (this guide) seems to address my issue but the link is dead. I even tried hunting down the guy who wrote it but he's dusted his tracks pretty well. One thing I noticed is that on the PC that the camera does not work on it asks for o15usd.dll; the other it does not. Both running XP 32. Anyone got any clues?
Update your drivers bud..
Links you have are old anyways..
There are now 3 diff. drivers that are out for the eyetoys..
One for the mini silver eyetoy and the other 2 for the black versions (30 & 31)..
Ya Im Bi-Poler and proud of it
My list of goodies
PS2 Version 1, 3, 9 (Magic V 50K) & 12
FMCB 1.8b/ESR/OPL/HDL (.8c)
PSP 2001 (Gen-D3)
Don't mind the smell!.. My brain farts a lot!
Nope. Drivers shouldn't be an issue considering it worked on one PC and not the other. I manually cleaned any traces using regedit and tried the drivers you provided for the hell of it and got the same result.
I think you guys have your wires slightly crossed here, due to incomplete description by you,Thuggles.
One point especially needs clarification, and that is exactly when you get that error message about the missing DLL. Is it when you insert the device or when you try to run that USB sniffer program.
If it is when you run the USB sniffer, then it just means that this program assumes you already have some DLLs installed that are normally used with the programming environement used to create the program. And that may well be true for one of your PCs but not for the other, as you probably don't have identical applications installed on both, and the needed DLL may have been installed by one of your old applications on one of the PCs.
As for the DLL filename you referred to, I doubt very much that it is correct.
(Zero hits on google...)
Please doublecheck, and post again with a precise description of the error message as well as a description of what you did to get that message.
Perhaps you should forget about the original guide you found and just concentrate on trying to use one of the ZIP packages scooter posted for you. They seem quite complete and to the point, and they do contain a DLL with a name rather reminiscent of the one you say your computer complained about missing.
Best regards: dlanor
It happens in the middle of installing the device. "The file ov519usd.dll on USB VGA Camera Driver Disk is needed." I already have the dll, I was just pointing out the fact that one computer asks for this and one doesn't. Doesn't happen with Scooters drivers but the result is the same, both the drivers I posted and Scooters drivers work on one computer but not the other.
