For some reason my ps2 will sometimes read my dvd+R movies and sometimes it won't. It use to read them fine before so it might be a laser problem but I'm not sure. I use the crappy flip top case to play dvd+r games and the ps2 reads the games which are burned on the same type of dvds fine. If anyone knows what the problem is please let me know what it is and how it might be able to be fixed.
it could be a laser problem that says it's wearing out...OR it could be the brand of media...Also, certain movies just plain out won't work on my ps2 either. and my laser is pretty new.
well if its still reading the ps2 games fine which is burned on to the same media is the problem still the laser wearing down?
I doubt...Some of my movies just plain out won't boot on my ps2, but work fine on my computer dvd rom, or dvd player...Then, other times they'll boot on my ps2, but not my dvd player....
I heard that not many dvd players like +, or Ritek media though...So, maybe that's the prob in my case.
What version ps2 do you have? Might also want to try cleaning your laser.
how do i clean the lens? i currently just use dust off to spray the inside and get rid of dust. is there a better way?
Get yourself a cleaning disc.
DVD+R is pretty dodgy in a ps2, only some read this form of media anyway? I?m assuming you ps2 is kind of in between and can hardly read it.
does it differ between movies and games because my games on dvd+r work perfectlly fine and i have no problems. I just have problems with movies.
Yes, but it is usually the other way around. Movies are usually accepted over games. Try some -r.
