I keep hearing about hdloader this and hdloader that....some call free loader and whatever they feel like it...Whatever it is, it's still hdloader and work the same way....I just wanna know if it's even legal to share this file....i know it sounds dumb but I just wanna know...like 'FREE loader'....that's not really free.is it?

oh...and...don't worry...i'm not looking for one...I have Hdloader....

use common sense... if it's under the GPL or shareware/freeware.... then share all you want. If it's copyrighted.. well... i'll let you figure that out.

btw, hd loader is copyrighted.

there's been a warez version of hd loader released. but i've never heard of it being called free-loader.

i wouldn't even bother... u'd need a chipped ps2 to run anything that's not been pressed to disk.

imo, hd loader is a load of crap. there's SO many incompatible games from what i've heard from other people. playstation 1 games won't work either. and the max size of a hdd you can put in there is a 120gb (ok.. 137gb for you technical peeps). oh yea, sony obviously knows about this software by now and i can assure you, is taking measures to implement 'anti-hdd' security features in upcoming games.

stick to modchips. (exception... i feel sorry for people living in the UK)

While there are for sure downsides of HDLoader, the benefits (faster loading, no warranty sticker to remove, EASY to install, no laser damage) far away the downsides. A chip is great, but I haven't heard anything about dead lasers or fried motherboard chips from a HDD.

No, it's all the original HDloader just ripped to cd and then to memory card via exploit or DMS3 explorer. The 'free' that you speak of is just someone's sarcasim towards the author over past quibles. The warez version has some overlayed splash the says 'free' and 'no copyrights for those who don't respect copyrights' In fact, if you even mention it on certain sites the mods come out threatening to sue eveybody who will stand still long enough to listen.

As for it being crap, I beg to differ. I think it's quite a cool toy especially off the MC. Out of the 10 games I have on it Vice City is the only one that doesn't work. I've played most of Driv3r off it, no problems. Yeah, software manufactors I'm sure will do a 'work around' but you know what? So will hackers.

bah, I'll setup a HDD for games on my ps2 when we can FTP games to the HDD at a decent speed

Jesus you paid $95 dollars for 50 G04's? You paid 2 dollars per disc!! O_O. Taiyo Yuden Discs are cheaper than those. You can get 50 TYs for 53 Dollars.

yea u cant put online games on it(HDD) but i look forward for some more development

and no my ps2 is not fried and workd lovely

and its good i can ripp some old games into HDD
and thats good enough for me

and i have the swap magic disk , yea the slide card thingy, thats good too

and what else ohh free loader

DANG....homegrown...you've been rip....i'm sure the price of DVD-r is getting cheaper than that by now....you must be buying from the wrong peoples....Thanks to everyone for replying...I knowed it's a commercial product, it's just that all these thing coming out make it sounds like a freeware....about it being bad??...I actually Love my hdloader and my HDD...why?? Of course i loads faster and it keeps my laser from being used...and..yall know what...I have an older ps2 with a laser that can only read CD...lucky me HDloader is on CD...Now this older ps2 is worth something again thanks to HDloader....that's all for me...
