Hi All,
I bought a duomod chips last month. And I installed it into my ps2. However when I turn it one, the cd won't boot (orginel) and the screen is black.
I used standard IDE ribon cable (alway's used it on psx mod's).
Could this be the problem?

I checked for bridges when i just mod-ed him (a month ago) couldn't find any. But i will check them again.
Thanks for your help, wil let you know if it worked.
Why don't you then use the ATA66 cable *the one with 80 wires* ? It's much better than the normal IDE cable. (of course I don't recommend multi thread ATA66 cables)

good point ATA100 would work single wires better also you might be able to get ATA100 round cables this as more flixability and is already stranded but saying that i did my first ps2 with old ide cable i also made a reset cable with oneQuote:

OKay. I just fineshed replacing the wires with ata66/100 (not sure wich one) instead of the ata33 ribon cable.
Im a litle bit further now. The PS2 is able to boot again.
However it shows me a screen wich is white (with a gold cd in midle) and in the upper right corner stating:" Playstation 2 DISC.
I can press Enter/Black.
When i press enter the same screen appears a fews seconds later, I tried orginal psx/ps2 games, and a backup psx. None work. Did I f*ck something up?
If I disable the chip by pressing for 5 seconds the reset button I'm able again to play orginel games.
So is my install bad? With the much smaller gauge of the wires i found soldering a breeze.
Great, it was a media problem. I searched my atic for the box of old PSX games. And those work.
Burned the PS2 game onto an other brand of cd's and those work.
So for others "use the right wires!".
