Dual Shock 2 Problems

Anyone have any problems with their Dual Shock 2's? I had a pad that was acting funny on racing games, it turned out I had to press the X button down REALLY hard for it to work properly. Now my new pad (maybe 6 months old or so) is starting to have the same problem.

I have had a DS2 controller for no more than a week and it already has this problem with Gran Turismo A-Spec. Now I use a 3rd party controller for this game. I think someone needs to take this up with Nintendo, because it is definately a problem. All it seems to take is for someone to push down hard on the button (ie. while making a sharp turn on a racing game like GT) and it seems to get permenantly damaged...seems like a design defect to me. I wonder if they even put their peripheral hardware through any kind of a sanity check before releasing it, because surely something like this should be caught and fixed before hitting the market ;p

Unless someone else has been playing around with my controller, but personally I always treat the gear with respect. Only an idiot would start button bashing and throw the pad about, still I've know people with old PS1 pads and most of them don't work properly either. SONY ARE CHEAP!!!!!!!!!
